LUSH LIFE Art Tour

Lower East Side and Chinatown Galleries

with Art Advisor Jennifer Weissbach

LUSH LIFE is a new exciting exhibition creating a lot of buzz in the art community.  Curated by Franklin Evans and Omar Lopez-Chahoud, LUSH LIFE takes place at nine Lower East Side galleries and adopts Richard Price’s 2008 novel to title and organize the exhibition.  The novel is set in the contemporary Lower East Side and through a murder investigation exposes the dynamically changing community of the neighborhood, which retains a ghostly and vital link to its layered past.  Each gallery's exhibition reflects the theme of one of the chapters in the book.  

The LUSH LIFE art tour will meet at 1:45 pm in front of the restaurant The National at 8 Rivington Street (on the north side of the street), between Bowery and Chrystie Streets.  Over three hours, we will tour various galleries involved in the exhibition, including galleries normally closed on weekends which have agreed to open to welcome our group!
